November 2011, Invest in New York Trade Mission

This is Asian American Business Development Center’s ninth trade mission to China since 2001 and it is the third such trade mission organized by AABDC’s New York in China Center since 2008.The delegation co-leaders John Wang, President of AABDC and Senator Malcolm A. Smith, were joined bysix elected officials: Assemblyman Peter J. Abbate, Jr.; Assemblyman Alec Brook-Krasny; AssemblymanSteven H. Cymbrowitz; Senator Hugh T. Farley; Senator Joseph A. Griffo; Senator George D. Maziarz.The eight-day itinerary, which was packed with meetings as well as sightseeing, gave the delegation an insight into the methods and planning behind China’s economic expansion.


December 2010, the 7th World Congress on High Speed Rail


Arranged by New York in China Center (NYICC), New York State Senate President Malcolm A Smith attended the 7th World Congress on High Speed Rail in Beijing. Senator Smith was invited to sit on the panel of the Congress and spoke at the opening session of the Congress on high speed rail development in the United States and in New York State.
NYICC subsequently organized a meeting between Senator Smith and Minister of Railroad of China and facilitated the signing of an M.O.U. between the two who have both expressed great desire to work together on the development of high speed rail in New York State.


September 2010, High Speed Rail Delegation


The New York State Delegation on High Speed Rail, organized by New York in China Center visited China from September 17 to 22 to study their high speed rail system. Headed by New York State Senate President, Senator Malcolm A. Smith, the Delegation met for the first time with the Chinese Ministry of Railways and other Chinese organizations involved in the design and construction of high speed rail and discussed potential cooperation between New York State and China on the building of high speed rail in New York.


December 2009, ZhongDe Waste Technology


NYICC organized exploratory meetings in New York between ZhongDe CEO and city officials of Freeport, Long Island; organized information trip for Freeport officials to Hamburg, Germany where the company has a plant in operation。


2009 New York-Jiangsu Sister-State Relationship


NYICC facilitated the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to renew the earlier Sister State Relationship between New York State and Jiangsu Province formed back in 1989.The MOU is an agreement to promote exchange and cooperation in science and technology, education and culture.


2009 Buffalo-Changzhou Friendship City Relationship


NYICC facilitated the signing of an agreement in Buffalo between Mayor Byron W. Brown and the city deputy-secretary general of Changzhou Mr. Li Peiran.


2009 Invest in New York Trade Mission


NYICC led a delegation including President of the New York State Senate Malcolm A. Smith and Assemblyman Ronald Canestrari, Majority Leader of the State Assembly and other 26 State legislators and businesses from different regions of the state.


2008 Invest in New York Trade Mission


NYICC Led the first Invest in New York Trade Mission Road Show to Shanghai, Changzhou, Nanjing and Beijing, which included a delegation of state legislators and a variety of businesses from New York state.


April 2008-The Opening of the New York in China Center


The New York in China Center opened in Beijing on April 21, 2008 by John Wang, President of the Asian American Business Development Center (AABDC) together with a delegation of New York State legislators representing upstate and down state: Senator Thomas Duane, Assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava, Assemblywoman Crystal D. Peoples, Assemblyman Dennis H. Gabryszak and Councilman Larry B. Seabrook


November 2007 - Official Announcement to Launch NYICC


John Wang, President of the Asian American Business Development Center (AABDC) and New York State Senate Democratic Leader Senator Malcolm Smith jointly announced the opening of the first New York Center in Beijing on November 1, 2007.
The Center will provide on-the-ground support in China to New York State businesses, especially small and medium size companies that are looking to enhance their competitiveness, but do not have the resources. The Center also offers consulting services for Chinese Small Business Enterprises who are interested in setting up operations in New York.
